Coca-Cola 600 is an annual 600 mile NASCAR Sprint Cup series points race. This event is held in Charlotte Motor Speedway, in Concord, North Carolina, during Memorial Day weekend. This event was first held in 1960, and became the first event to be held in Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Since the Memorial Day this year is on May 30, the race will be held on May 29 with the Sprint Showdown and the Sprint All-Star Race. The FedEx 400 will move from the last week in May to the third weekend in May before the All-Star Weekend.

NASCAR has started this event as an attempt to stage the Memorial Day Weekend to complete the open-wheel Indianapolis 500. From 1960 to 1984 the race was known as World 600, to be changed in 1985 to Coca-Cola World 600. In 1986 the name was changed to Coca-Cola 600, which is the name that has stayed today, but not without being changed again in 2002. In this year, the event was called Coca-Cola Racing Family 600. It was referred to the Coca-Cola family of drivers who were sponsored by Coca-Cola.
